Casey has worked for over 25 years as a Psychotherapist, Autism Resource Consultant, and Clinical Supervisor on multidisciplinary teams across Canada. She has a B.Sc. in Psychology, an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction, and a PhD in Cognition and Learning, with research interests in self-regulation within early learning and psychotherapeutic environments.  Currently in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, she runs a private psychotherapy practice and is a certified DIRFloortime (Developmental, Individual, Relationship-Based play therapy) practitioner for children and families. In addition to providing clinical services, Casey also provides professional development consultation and workshops for educators and other professionals and caregivers. Casey has also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Algoma University (Psychology), Lake Superior State University (Education), Sault College (Social Service Worker Program) and Yorkville University (MA in Counselling Psychology), and as a Shanker Self-Reg Facilitator and Mentor.  She is the parent of two amazing young adults, and the partner of a very understanding man.

What keeps Casey balanced and regulated? Yoga, meditation, forest trails, a glass of wine, hearty laughs amongst good friends, the beach, a variety of stringed instruments, and her amazing family.

Marnie Provenzano, M.A., R.P. (Qual.)
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Marnie’s interest in the human mind, passion for social justice, and desire to stay close to home led her to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Law and Justice at Algoma University. She began her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with the mission of learning how to best support the people of her community. Although she never expected to be working with kids, she realized it was her calling during her master’s placement. Marnie has provided psychotherapy to children, youth, and families for over a year as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). She is looking forward to growing as a member of an amazing team.

What keeps Marnie balanced and regulated? A paddle in her kayak, a hike with her dog, a hot bubble bath, yoga, dancing, camping trips, puzzles, and quality time with her loving partner, family, and friends (especially the four-legged ones).

Pamela Beatty (Pamela May Stevens)
CIAC (accruing hours),
Indigenous Liaison Counselor

Pamela recently returned to her “home” where she considers the land her family. She is a thriving 60’s Scoop Survivor whose lived experience has become the framework for her Two-Seeing approach. Most of her career has been in Social Services, dedicating herself to helping her indigenous community in urban settings. Her past work predominantly includes advocacy, delivery, and administration of programs meant to assist her  clients navigating through child welfare systems, ensuring fair and just treatment. Feeling a calling to help people through addictions and concurrent disorders, she successfully completed Wilfred Laurier University’s Professional Addiction Program as well as their Wholistic Healing and Colonial Trauma at the university’s Centre for Indigegogy. Professionally, her interests include trauma care/treatment, Land Based Healing, neurodiverse experiences and Harm Reduction Strategies. Pamela is a certified Mental Health Peer Support Worker and Indigenous Death Doula. She is currently working under the guidance and supervision with Casey Burgess (Psychotherapy) while she accrues certification hours for CIAC (certified Indigenous Addictions Counselor), DIRFloortime and Self-Reg (Mehrit Centre). Pamela and her wonderful partner are parents to three amazing adults.

“Becoming certified in both DIRFloortime and Self-Reg has opened up a new perspective on mental health. Much of my education is based on helping after traumas have taken hold. Now I have the opportunity to help in early childhood with actual strength based approaches and where individuals are not just reduced to their behaviours. It’s a great feeling to be in an environment that embraces my traditional “ways of knowing.” I love being able to blend two distinct knowledge systems to form a meaningful approach to not just my own community but to all communities.”

What keeps Pamela balanced and regulated? Cryptograms, drumming and singing, time with a peaceful partner and family, learning cosmology, two unconditionally loving cats, and spending time around a fire in the quiet, listening to the coyotes speak to the Creator.
