Psychotherapy / Counselling for Post-Secondary Students As a post-secondary instructor, I am uniquely positioned to counsel post-secondary students in finding balance in their lives to support their academic success, social engagement, and their physical and emotional well-being. Students are encouraged to first contact their institution to access any available services provided to them at no cost. I am available to enhance these services, or to provide services above and beyond the scope of what is available.
HeartMath HeartMath is an approach based on decades of scientific research on the psychophysiology of stress, emotions, and the interactions between the heart and brain that gives biofeedback on the variations between heartbeats (heart rate variability, or HRV), a measure of our stress response system and how we are self-regulating, allowing us to use a variety of reflective techniques that impact our stress response system and thus our well-being and see immediate results of some of these techniques on our nervous systems.
Coming Soon The Safe and Sound Protocol, another wonderful tool based on HRV for improving vagal tone (our stress response system) and enhancing social engagement which involves specific techniques for increasing the nervous system's ability to feel safe and calm.
